Today's flood was terrible. I felt like a refugee in one of the Bangladesh monsoon season flash floods, or Noah in the Ark though that would've been much worst as we all know. Anyhoo, initially only the roads nearer to the bus stops were flooded and I was like ew so I got down at Sixth and tried to flag a cab. At this point of time, people were standing atop the chairs and I was covered up to my ankles. No cab would come near to the flooded bus stop so I just hopped on the next available bus. The next thing I know, I was stuck at Maple Ave, terrible jam, none of the cars were moving and it was like a massive rapid flowing river, the water was rising fast. Then, the water started seeping into the bus and one of the cars in front of the bus started floating slowly towardsour direction. Thank God it stopped just before it hit us. Got stuck there for like an hour. Finally the water subsided and the traffic began moving but there were like quite a number of random cars on random areas of the whole stretch of road. And I think there was a pretty bad accident or smash over at the other side 'cause there were lots of ambulances, policemen all over and the civil defence. What an experience, pretty interesting though but wasted my time. And I wanted to go cycling...can't imagine if I'm in the forest now, think I'll be swept out by the stream.
