So I was reading this book and I realised that the post below was incomplete so I'm going to copy a paragraph of the book which beats any of those philosophical shit hands down.
" Most people spend their entire lives trying to figure out who they are. They attempt to answer that question by accumulating possesions, coveting the praise of men, striving for success or trying to fill the hole in their hearts with alcohol and other addictions. The truth is, what people think and what we accomplish in life will never fulfil us. There is only one way to know who we truly are. It is when we behold the face of the one who made us ------ We were first wanted, loved, fully accepted and pure just as we are. He made us out of great love and a desire for us to exist ----- We were not created for the desires of our earthly parents or to please society, friends, bosses and significant others. We were created perfectly to fulfil His desires. This is who we truly are, His beloved sons & daughters ----- We are sojourning in a land that rejects, hates and tries to destroy who we truly are. So many of us have learnt to adapt, we pretend and perform according to the preferences of the majority, all the while despising who we really are, having forgotten our Father who yearns for us to remember and return to Him ----- Jesus lived on earth as a human to return the human race to its original identity which is in Christ - as redeemed sons and daughters of God who are loved just as we are, not because of what we can do or pretend to be. " I wasn't saying to hide yourself at home and from the world but rather, to build and return to the relationship He's waiting for. To soak in His presence and to spend time with Him. That is the true meaning of life...and life eternal.
