Okay food fiesta was bad. Headed up to Ipoh for the famous "hor fun" and beansprout chicken. The idea of kway teow as a supplement instead of rice is not too bad but the beansprout chicken was really nothing much. Tasted exactly like the chicken we have here, just that it comes with added sesame oil- way too much. Tried the local salted chicken. Basically chicken cooked with salt in a special way- interesting but not something I would run after. Also had a go at the famous dim sum shops, very authentic but it was soooo messy I didn't even feel like eating. They also brought us to various caves which turned out to be temples, didn't step in. Sightseeing was obviously nothing much. Up to Cameron Highlands after, temperature was cool so it made the tour less irritable but all the stuff being sold there was the SAME. At every corner, you'll see strawberries, corn, fried food etc. Same old. Got bored. The vegetables are good though. Went down for the famous Cameron steamboat, BLEAH it was horrid. My Uncle's steamboat is like a billion times better. Absolutely no authenticity at all, tons of MSG. Long winding road back down to KL for some shopping on Sunday, almost puked 'cause seriously the winding roads were packed so closely it feels as if your head is spinning. Ah, for once I'm saying thank God I'm back in SG opposed to the usual depression after an overseas trip.
